Kristine Domingo is the creator behind Sweet & Sour Goodies. Her love of plush, crafts, embroidery, sewing and design helped develop her line of "sour faced" plush dolls. Inspiration comes from all the funny, odd and sweet events of her everyday life. "I love crafts!! I love making things, seeing how things are made, buying things that people make, reading about people that make things...you get the idea."
FAQs
How did you come up with the name Sweet & Sour Goodies?
I wanted a name that was fun and quirky and celebrated all the random events of everyday life. Sweet & Sour Goodies just seemed to be the right fit for my little guys. It ultimately represents all things cute, whimsical and nostalgic with a bit of an edge.
Why do your dolls look so mad?
People have asked me, "Why do your dolls look so mad?" And I just tell them my tagline, "...a sweet design with a sour disposition."
What size are the dolls?
The standard Sweet & Sour Goodies doll is 9 inches in height. We also have mini dolls around the holidays for stocking stuffers or ornaments. Jumbo size dolls are usually 2 feet tall and can be made upon request.
Do you do custom orders?
YES!! I am currently taking custom orders. So if you're interested in turning yourself, a friend or family member into a Sweet & Sour Goodies character just send me an email. Please note that there are additional costs to customized dolls.
Where can I find Sweet & Sour Goodies?
Sweet & Sour Goodies are currently sold at the following locations: Schmancy in Seattle, Songbird in Long Beach, Young Blood Gallery in Atlanta, Wholly Craft in Ohio, Craftland in Rhode Island and Grumpy Bert in New York. You can also visit my Etsy site. For wholesale information, please email me with your name, contact information, phone number, and tax id number. Also, check the Events page to find out where our next craft show will be.
Who took the photos of your dolls?
The photos were taken by the wonderfully talented Whitney Deuel. To contact Whitney please email her at whitneywork@cox.net
How do you find time to work on all this stuff?
I have a wonderful assistant Haley, who is also my cousin. Together, with our very busy schedules, we find the time to create these little guys.
What are some of your favorite things?
Well, besides all things plush, I love my daughter, hubbie and two doggies Nixon and Truman. They're pretty awesome! I also love almond milk teas with boba, vintage finds, good music and my family. I'm pretty lucky to have such a large support system that constantly inspires me to follow my dreams.
If you were one Sweet & Sour Goodies character-which one would you be?
That's a tough one. I would have to say that I relate well with the Gnome. Mysterious, quirky and mini....just like me.
